Through carefully curated displays, guests can examine natural, treated, and synthetic gemstones, alongside examples that illustrate common enhancement techniques used in the trade. Interactive panels and demonstrations introduce advanced identification methods, grading standards, and testing equipment, offering valuable technical insight.
Siam Gems Heritage Centre
This venue is a world-class interactive museum and learning center dedicated to the history, artistry, and cultural significance of Thai jewelry, built upon more than 60 years of industry expertise. Designed as a landmark celebrating Thai identity through gemstones, it blends traditional Thai aesthetics with modern multimedia technology to narrate how Thailand became a ‘World’s Gemstone Hub’, emphasizing the cultural symbolism and meticulous craftsmanship behind high-end jewelry production.
Visitors are welcomed by a 360-degree immersive cinema, followed by the impressive showcase of masterpieces of precious stones. Themed galleries present mining and cutting processes through advanced dioramas, while dedicated viewing areas allow guests to observe master craftsmen performing stone setting, polishing, and metalwork.
Jewelry Trade Centre
Rising nearly 60 floors in the heart of Bangkok, it serves as a vital nerve center for the international coloured gemstones. The complex houses hundreds of wholesalers, retailers, exporters, and gemstone laboratories, drawing buyers and dealers from around the world. As a key economic pillar of Thailand’s jewelry industry, JTC facilitates substantial trade in rubies, sapphires, and other precious stones sourced globally, functioning as a central marketplace that connects Thai traders with international partners and reinforces Bangkok’s status as a global gemstone trading capital.
A visit offers firsthand exposure to a dynamic, real-world trading ecosystem. Visitors can explore wholesale showrooms and ‘Gem Market’ floors where live negotiations take place, observe gemstone trading offices, including the Asian Institute of Gemological Sciences (AIGS). The experience provides valuable insight into sourcing practices, pricing structures, export processes, logistics support services, and the full supply chain – from loose stones traded in volume to high-end finished jewelry displayed in luxury showrooms.
